If you are not aware of who you are, people won’t take you seriously but when you are aware of who you are and what you stand for, you will be taken seriously.

What is Self Awareness?
Self awareness is the brick for personal growth. This involves you understanding your needs, desires, fears, habits among other things that make you who you are.
If you want to be a better person then you need to know who you are, what you stand for, what you can take, and what you can’t take. The essential part is to learn to love and accept yourself for who you are.
To be honest, it takes courage to look deep down within yourself and look at the messy emotions that one might have when we don’t even want to acknowledge those emotions.
Growth isn’t a smooth ride, it is more like a rocky one but also a necessary one if you want to move up in your life and also become a better person.

How To Be More Self Aware
Meditation is super important, it teaches you how to control your emotions, helps relieve stress, it also helps you live in the present and it also increases your self-awareness.
By meditating you will reduce the negative emotions that you may have. So by meditating you will start your journey to be more self aware.
Write Down Your Priorities
The second thing you need to do is to write down what is important to you, so you write down what your goals are and what actions you are going to take towards your goals, this way you know what you have to do in other to achieve your dreams.
Ask For Feedback
Always ask for feedback in whatever it is that you do. This way you can learn your strengths and your weaknesses.
You can ask people what they think about you and the actions that you have taken towards your dreams, this will, in turn, help you work on your weaknesses and also make you very humble and more self aware.
Pay Attention To What Irritates You About Others
You need to pay very close attention to what habits other people do that you don’t like so that you can be able to avoid them, this will help you set your boundaries.
Learn Something New
You need to learn something new, like learning a new skill or starting a new hobby, this will, in turn, help you grow as a person and become more aware of what you are good at and what you aren’t.
Learn To Listen To Intuition
This is super important, listening to your intuition can be really good for your self awareness.
There were times my intuition told me not to do something and I went ahead and did, I can tell you that those things got me into bad situations that I am hoping never to get into ever again.
Since then, I have been listening to my intuition more and I believe it is a great way to become more self aware.
Another tip on how to be more aware is to observe yourself and your environment, observe what your habits are.
Most of us pick up some habits that we don’t know we are picking up but when we observe ourselves those habits are noticed, and when we study our environment we learn things about ourselves.
Keep A Journal
Journaling is super important for being self-aware, you express your unexpressed feelings, it helps you connect with your inner world on a deeper level
Through journaling, you can express gratitude which is super important.
By expressing your gratitude you get to focus on the positive aspects of your life which in turn helps you become a more positive person.
The last tip on how to be more aware is to challenge yourself, in order to grow you need to step out of your comfort zone.
Last year I mainly focused on stepping out of my comfort zone which has been an eye-opener for me, I know that stepping out of one’s comfort zone can be scary but it’s important to challenge yourself to do stuff that you don’t like to do.
